The Deer Trail Pioneer Historical Society was founded in 1969. In that year, the Union Pacific Railroad donated the Deer Trail Railroad Depot to the Historical Society for a museum and it was moved to its present site at Second Ave. and Fir Street. Since that time a new building was built and a log house and a one room school house have also been moved to the museum grounds. All four buildings contain the thousands of locally donated items on exhibit.
The Historical Society is a non-profit organization operating solely on donations and fund raising projects, and operated by volunteers. The museum is open from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. every Saturday in June and July, and anytime by appointment. For appointment call – 303-769-4542.
