In only 3 days, you’ll have the chance to meet local businesses from the eastern plains’ I70 Corridor–including the folks from Chimera Ranch Alpacas!

Chimera Ranch

Located in Bennett, Chimera Ranch is an alpaca farm run by Norm and Sandra, where they not only raise animals, but create amazing fiber art as well. Fiber is the primary product produced by the alpacas at Chimera Ranch and as a result, Sandra and Norm have learned how to best utilize the fiber to produce handspun yarns and wearable art. The name of the fiber products’ business is Enchanted Art, and you can find them at a variety of markets and festivals throughout the year. Make sure you stop by their booth, check out the handcrafted fiber products (they make great gifts!), and give them a follow online and on Facebook, too!

“Selfie Sundays” at Tall Grass Farms Alpacas…the art of doing “selfies” with your alpaca herd!
After having spouted off to some of my friends about how easy it is to do “selfies” with our animals, we decided to give it a try this weekend!  It was more of a challenge than we thought…  We got some good laughs at our “deer in the headlights shots of us”…the animals were quite cooperative at breakfast time anticipating that “grain” was coming soon!

Kristi of Tall Grass Farms Alpacas masters the art of selfies with a captive audience

We did capture a couple great shots of our “girls” waiting patiently and our “Grandfather Llama, Zeus” smiling after his breakfast!  All you need is some “charming Alpacas” or Llamas or whatever your favorite creature is to make you look good in a picture…all of us loving our life on the Eastern Plains!

Zeus at Tall Grass Farms Alpacas takes a great selfie–Rick didn’t do too bad, either!

There are some great tools to allow you to take the perfect selfie–check out selfie sticks at your local camera or electronics stores. Many of these operate via bluetooth and have remotes to capture the perfect image!
